Il quinto album di Mike Oldfield è stato parzialmente registrato nell’Electric Lady Studios di New York City, ed il brano che da il titolo all’album riflette il trambusto della città all’epoca.
Impeccabilmente organizzato e prodotto, l’album è stato rilasciato nel novembre 1979. E’ stato il primo album di Oldfield che includeva brani brevi, tra cui una bella versione di George Gershwin “I got rhythm”, e una nuova interpretazione del brano “North Star” di Philip Glass.
La Collection 2012 fu realizzata dalla Mercury Records il 30 luglio 2012 e fa parte dell’accordo che Mike Oldfield firmò per trasferire il catalogo dei suoi lavori dalla Virgin, alla Universal. Fù realizzato nello stesso giorno del “QE2 Collection” e ad un anno dall’uscita di “Incantations Collection” realizzato dalla Universal. Il primo disco è la registrazione originale rimasterizzata e con l’aggiunta di materiale extra, mentre il secondo disco (disponibile solo nell’edizione Deluxe) è la registrazione del concerto live al Wembley Arena di Londra, il 28/29 maggio 1980.
